Homework Policy
Homework has a definite place in the educational process. It is an extension of the learning experiences children have during the instructional day. Homework is designed to aid the student in achieving classroom and school goals, and should not be used to punish or keep a student busy.
Types of Homework
1. Unfinished classroom work.
2. Remedial drill-----this is an extension of work that has been introduced in class.
3. Practice basic facts 10 minutes each night.
4. Reading-----Your child should read for at least 20 minutes every night. If there is no assigned reading then it is their choice.
5. Simple Solution Grammar.
Home Folder
1. Vinyl Green Folder (I provide)
2. Each week your child will have a weekly assignment sheet to put inside the front clear pocket with all his/her homework assignments.
3. In the back pocket there is a sheet for you to write me notes on..................your child will give it to me in the morning and he/she will bring it home with my response.
Homework When Student Misses School
If your child is ill, but able to do homework I will be happy to make assignments that do not require teacher instruction. Please call the school in advance to make these arrangements.
